CREDITING BOND INSURERS: The subprime ripple continues as the newest causalities to surface are the bond-insurers. The Hudson Institute is hosting a conference "The Ongoing Credit Crunch: What's Next For Structured Finance, Credit Rating Agencies, and Bond Insurers?" with a panel featuring key players in the industry from James Chanos to Bill Ackman. Melissa Lee is live with the smartest in the boardroom as they discuss the future roles of structured finance, credit rating agencies, and bond insurers in the mortgage markets. Is it time for regulators to step in?

GM EARNINGS: Restructuring never seems to end for the Big Three carmakers and General Motor's earnings are expected to reflect its transitional pains. Wall Street expects substantial declines, but the question remains: will investors continue to grip the wheel for the road ahead?

RESCUE PLAN: Bank of America, Washington Mutual, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, Countrywide and Citigroup are scheduled to announce the program dubbed "Project Lifeline" in a meeting with Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson at 11a ET Tuesday. The plan is intended to identify seriously delinquent borrowers and halt any foreclosure process while working out a new payment scheme. Diana Olick monitors the announcement as six of the nations biggest lenders come together to lift homeowners from foreclosure.

POTOMAC PRIMARIES: It's election day for both parties in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. With the Republican nomination all but official, the "Potomac Primaries" are vital for Obama and Clinton, currently locked in a near dead heat.
