We all know that history is only a guide but without fail, whenever things gets REALLY rocky like today - I find myself looking backward to find a way forward.
One thing that comes to mind amidst this volatility and the VIX at a record high, is that hyper-volatily is always short-lived, and typically indicates a major shift is at hand. In the past 20 years the VIX has topped 40 only 6 times. Each time marked a top or bottom…and I think most would agree that we're closer to a top than a bottom at this point!
