| SMART CAR, SAFE CAR: Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is releasing crash test results for the tiny Smart car. The Smart car earns high safety marks for its size, getting the highest rating of "Good" for front and side crash protection, and an "acceptable" rating for seat and head restraint performance in rear-end crashes. At the same time, the Institute will give consumers advice on the safety of small cars compared with larger ones, and what to look for when shopping for a more fuel-efficient vehicle.
