| REALITY BITES: A dozen workers on reality TV shows filed claims with the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement alleging their employers improperly denied them overtime pay and meal breaks. They're looking for $500,000 in unpaid overtime and penalties, but what they're really pushing for is Writers Guild representation for reality and game show writers. With two class-action suits from 2005 still pending, accusing major networks and production companies of violating CA labor laws, the Guild is trying to use these suits to accomplish what they couldn't in strike negotiations -- getting 1,000-plus reality writers under their umbrella.
