JOBS REPORT: The Labor Department releases the monthly jobs report. Hampton Pearson reports the breaking news from the Labor Department and Steve Liesman and Rick Santelli provides analysis.

PAY UNDER PRESSURE: The mortgage mess has hit Wall Street firms hard, and it's not over yet. The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is scrutinizing the executive compensation and retirement packages for the CEOs of the corporations deeply involved in the subprime crisis. The witness list is packed with heavy-hitters including Angelo Mozilo, Stan O'Neal, Chuck Prince, and Dick Parsons among others. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10am.

MILLION DOLLAR HOMES 2008--THE PRESIDENTIAL EDITION: CNBC tells you how much house you can buy for a cool million today -- in the towns where our presidential candidates live, in each party's convention city and in the town where the new president's cabinet will reside come January. Has the current downward trend in home prices, increased time on the market and high inventory affected the value of our future president's neighborhood? Is a million enough for a mansion or just enough for a condo? And will all those staffers be able to buy in to the place they will soon call home?

WATER, THE NEW GOLD: Water is being cutback in America's winter bread basket (Southern California), so farmers are stumping avocado trees to save water, but that now means more expensive avocados.
