TANKER CONTRACT TURNED PROTECTIONISM FIGHT: Northrop Grumman, along with European partner EADS, was the big winner in the Pentagon's $40 billion tanker contract. That looks like the end of the battle, but the beginning of the war, with today's Congressional hearing just a preamble to the fight over a national defense contract of the size being awarded to foreign producers. Most of the assembly of the 179 air-to-air refueling tankers will be assembled in France.
