1. XBOX MELTDOWN: The world's largest software company is facing a potentially huge, possibly class-action lawsuit and in preparation has already set aside $1 billion to address the problem presented by faulty XBOX 360s that literally melt down when they run certain of the company's gaming software. It's a big holiday headache that has MSFT hurting but Nintendo and Sony grinning. Jim Goldman digs into what Microsoft is saying and what's it's doing to confront the crisis to avoid a hit to its stock price. Jane Wells covers the XBOX consumers and reveals what gamers, bloggers and retailers are saying in response.
2. DOUBLE-DUTY STENTS: Abbott takes its first drug-coated stent before an FDA advisory committee Thursday but it's not an easy road to approval. Questions have been raised about safety data backing the stent that would give Abbott a slice of the $4 billion market. If the stent gets approval, it hits the market with double-force: Boston Scientific would market the very same drug-coated stent under the brand name Promus under the terms of the Guidant deal. Mike Huckman examines the decision and what it means for this growing pharmaceutical sector..
3. DELL EARNINGS: As the company moves to a business selling juiced-up machines to consumers worldwide, investors are looking to Dell's earnings for a gauge of the health of U.S. corporate technology spending. Analysts expect net income to rise to 35 cents a share and sales to reach $15.3 billion. Jim Goldman is live with the earnings report and Wall Street's reaction.
4. GOP DEBATE ROUNDUP: The Republican Presidential candidates met for a first-of-its-kind debate hosted by YouTube and CNN's Anderson Cooper Wednesday night in St. Petersburg, FL. John Harwood round-ups the winners and losers..
