2. DOUBLE-DUTY STENTS: Abbott takes its first drug-coated stent before an FDA advisory committee Thursday but it's not an easy road to approval. Questions have been raised about safety data backing the stent that would give Abbott a slice of the $4 billion market. If the stent gets approval, it hits the market with double-force: Boston Scientific would market the very same drug-coated stent under the brand name Promus under the terms of the Guidant deal. DELL EARNINGS: As the company moves to a business selling juiced-up machines to consumers worldwide, investors are looking to Dell's earnings for a gauge of the health of U.S. corporate technology spending.
