Stocks fall, but Apple gains

  • Apple not only defied a down day on Wall Street, but posted the largest gain, climbing 0.85 percent to end the session at $556.18 a share. Pete Najarian and Joe Terranova held Apple stock in their portfolios.
  • Apart from Apple, there were only two other stocks in the Portfolio Playoffs to close in the green. Huntsman, owned by Josh Brown, closed up 0.67 percent at $22.48 a share. Baker Hughes, held by Jon Najarian, gained 0.28 percent to finish at $56.94 a share.
  • Disappointing Chinese data dragged on the KraneShares CSI China Internet exchange-traded fund. The ETF, owned by Josh Brown, fell 4.91 percent to end at $34.09 a share.
  • Softbank logged the day’s worst performance, dropping 4.99 percent. The stock, owned by Josh Brown and Steven Weiss, settled at $80.88 a share.
