Holy moly. The volatility is causing more whiplash than a car accident. Those who follow the VIX (the volatility index--a key measure of fear because it measures how much people are willing to pay for options that protect their stocks against price swings) aren't surprised by this rally. The VIX has been at all time highs. Historically, whenever it spikes, you get some kind og mega rally. The key question though--is it short-lived and do we retest the lows?
