Trade of the Week

Jeff Macke I'm Karen Finerman and Covidien, ticker COV is your on the money trade of the day.
Covidien, a new name for this old company spun out of Tyco is a huge player in the medical device and supplies space. With over $10 billion in sales, and some of the most venerable names in the business such as Mallinckrodt, Nellcor and Puritan Bennett, Covidien is one of the biggest companies you never heard of. Now that the company is free of the Tyco taint, they can manage their business for long term growth. And that means significantly ramping up their research and development spend to improve their product offerings to better compete with other industry players.

With a new name, a clean balance sheet, and most importantly an attractive valuation of 15x next year's earnings, Covidien is your on the money trade of the day.

Next week the real fun begins my Fast Money friends - earnings season, or as I like to call it, Money Time. Can you hear it? Billions will be made in the next couple weeks, and watching Fast Money will become requires viewing if you want to stay ahead of the news.

We kick it off with Alcoa on Tuesday, but Wednesday the real fun starts..... not only because the bevy of earnings results, but also because it will mark the broadcasting event of the year. That's right - Fast Money will be live at Five starting Wednesday!!!!!! Not since JR was shot has a nation been so captivated by an event on TV.

Okay, that might be overdoing it, but it is a significant move, and one that could not have been made without your support. I say again: From all of us at Fast, a heartfelt thanks.

Earnings and Fast at Five - I can't think of a better combination. Remember, an open market is one in which you can make money, and we will try to do that all next week.

I hope to see you then.

-Dylan
